Attended classes as an older adult along with mixed age and many college students. I only wish there was an exact replica of the school in the USA. Classes were taught all in Italian which may sound scary but absolutely the best way to get it done. I chose the five days a week 3+hour a day for about 2 months and then two days a week for about a month. This was in 2017 and I was really happy with progress and got along pretty well speaking and understanding during my year long stay in Rome. Every instructor was better than the next. Some of the teaching styles varied but all effective and the switch up every few weeks I think was great. Administrators are very helpful too. Recommend this school 1000% I miss them all.

Studied abroad in Rome for a month with my school and went to Italiaidea. Flo is AMAZING! Love her so much! Even when she was absent though, all of the professors there were fantastic. Great teachers, informative on both the language and the city, and just downright super nice people. They also have extracurricular activities like pasta making and soccer that you sign up for at the school with other students and it's an amazing experience overall. GO HERE!

I had a wonderful experience at Italiaidea. After a month-long intensive course with Luigi I can read and understand most of the Italian I encounter. The classroom was a fun space and many of the events organized by the school were wonderful additions to my Italian experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Italiaidea.

What a great school! By design, I had a combination of several teachers and while they all had different styles they were all great and put good emphasis on not only grammar but also practice in speaking, listening to recorded dialogues (which for me is the hardest - thank you for making me do this!), and writing. In addition to the teachers, I must also compliment the administration: not only are they incredibly responsive and get back to you immediately with answers (which is not a given here in Italy), but they are also very supportive. For example, when tourist season ended and my advanced class came down below the minimum size of 4 students, they allowed us to keep going at the same cost and schedule with only 2 students for several weeks before we transitioned to a different schedule. Whenever I paid by-the-day rates, if I was absent a particular day they just credited me the amount (or in my case, let me use the paid day for the following week). And finally, when my daughter's school was closed for a strike they had no problem with my 6-yr-old daughter coming along for class - she even got to be the teacher's assistant (and ever since then keeps asking her own teacher when the next strike is so that she can come with me to Italidea again....). Highly recommended!
